ATC

This is one of the first Artist Trading Cards I made. Such an interesting process. The base of the card is a piece of muslin painted with Modge and the all sort 'plonked' onto this sticky mess. I used torn tissue paper, ripped gift wrap, old dress pattern paper, bits of fabric, skeleton leaves, gold flake, feathers, glitter and all mushed together with more Modge. I let that dry well, then pressed it flat and then cut it to size. I then stamped this lovely cross with Stazon onto acetate, cut to fit the ATC and attached it with a little Modge along the top only. It is so beautiful in real life and to me represents the passion of the lenten season.
I hope you like it.

My Bear Room

I am so lucky to have a Bear room. My DH put up shelves for me in a corner and I found some awesome display boxes that we painted up and mounted on the wall for the small bearz. I have been collected bear trivia and have been making bearz for several years so I have accumulated a fair amount of the luv'z. Because of space constraints, I now only make small ones. I also have a good number of the luv'z in my craft room. They sit on the pelmet and keep an eye on me and my crafting endeavours. Just though I would share a little of my 'world'. Hugz

Hunny Bunny

Every year I make another bunny for my hug.
This little Hunny is actually for a friend, but she turned out so cute, I will make another for myself. She is only 3" tall and is made out of Sassy long pile mini bear fabric. Her ears have armatures in so you can bend and shape them. Her onyx eyes have light shading around them and the face is scissor sculpted. Her little paw pads are needle sculpted to show off her toes! She really is adorable.
I will post a picture of my collection of bunnies closer to Easter.
My word, only a few weeks to go!
Hope you like Hunny Bunny.

Teddy Photo Album

This is such a lovely idea. I bought a photo album from Clicks and covered it with hand made paper, sealed with Modge and used metal corners to finish it off. I cut out the bear from felt and stitched around it, attached the limbs with buttons and glued it onto the front of the album. It really looks so professionally finished. One can use all sorts to embellish the front cover, but I think this lends itself to folk/bear art patterns that can be modified to suit. But, on the other hand, you could stamp out colour and embellish whatever image grabs you and attach it to the cover!
Hmmm.... endless possibilities.............

Christmas Bearz

These cute Bearz hang on your Christmas tree. I try to make one every year to add to my collection, with the intention of one day, having a Christmas Bear Tree. I decided to make a few Snowangel Bearz just to  for a change, thinking that a little tree with these beautiful white blingy angels would also look lovely, or perhaps mix them on the same tree..... we'll see what happens. You cannot really see in this photo, but she has chrystals down the centre of her tummy. She looks so much prettier in real life.  When I have them on the tree, I will post a photo for your all to enjoy! Oh, these bearz are 7cm tall, made out of Mini Bear Velvet with black glass bead eyes, Hope you like them!

Teddy Stampers Challenge # 5

5
We were given a sketch to follow in this weeks challenge. I wanted to stay away from the 'cutesy' look so that this could be used for the opposite sex, who were not into pink etc. Everything used, I had in my stash, even the prestamped teddy, so I just wipped out the Copic's and got busy. As this image was already stamped onto a butterscotch cardstock, the Copic colours did not 'pop' as intended. However, I think I achieved the vintage bear look I had in mind.
I am begining to enjoy working with sketches and will use them more often. Takes the pain out of 'what, when and where' that procastinators like me, really battle with!
Hope you like the card - I would love your comments.......

Magnetic Picture Board

I make these boards so that a sheet of scrapbook paper will fit into it. You can change the paper to suit your decor, or as this one was for a newborn baby, as he grew older the paper could be updated when required. I use all sorts of embellishments and glue a magnet onto the back of each one. Steel paper is attached to the backing board and the scrapbook paper fits on top of that. There is a ribbon accross with little pegs to hold the little momentos. All that was missing was photo's of the newborn little boy! I made this for a lovely young lass I work with who was having her second child. It was well received and drew admirable comments from all at the baby shower and several girls offered to fall pregnant, if I promised them a picture board!

Q-Tee Bear

Another of Monica Spicer's unusual bears. Would you believe I acutally used those eyelashes some years ago, so when I needed eyelashes for this bear, out they came and into recycling mode was I!! Truth be know, they look better on Q-tee than on me! She is about 10cm tall, made out of sparse Schulte mohair with black glass eyes and lovely butterfly adorned 'patches' on her footpads.
As I said, a most unusual bear - but the name fits!
Thanks for visiting.

Baby Card

This is a lovely technique! It is a form of Iris folding. You start off with 5 copies of you image and cut, fold and build up the image with the last one being the face, in this instance. This was made before I had nesties, so no lovely embossed edges! I used co-ordinating paper from a pad from Sizzix called Little Sizzles. Lovely to have as they give you 3 or 4 sheets that are colour co-ordinated. Takes the pain out of choosing for me as I am a procrastinator of note when it comes to choosing paper. Probably what takes me the longest in making a card - colour selection and co-ordinating!!
