Special Couple card

Another card that can be used for all the wedding anniversaries, engagement and wedding occasion's.
I used the Spellbinders Label 20 die and layered it onto the pink base. The sentiment is from a Just Rite set especially for these sort of occasion's. This I embossed in gold. The leafy flourish is a Marianne die and the flower is a Papertrey Ink Die, cut out of a few co-ordinating pink cards and embellished with one of Paola's pearls.
Very simple and pretty!

Wedding Invitation Class Samples

Today we had a wedding invitation class and made these three cards.
The White and Black card is an A5 size card - big - but with lots of room to add all sorts of details on the pages behind the invitation, which is covered with Space Dust Vellum. The sheets flip forwards and up and have pages attached at the top of in invitation.

The White and Silver invitation is a pocket card with the invitation behind the embossed and stamped front cover. This embossed design is from a Sizzex set I found on my travels. I immediately snapped it up as it can be used with a different stamped sentiment in the blank part of the embossed card.
There is plenty of room behind this cover to attach maps, order or service etc.

The last invitation is in a lovely Nude/Caramel colour. This is a fold out card that has a pocket for extra inclusions, as mentioned in all of the above cards. The top flap folds up, there is the inside of that flap, the middle section and then the pocket at the bottom of the opened out invitation. It is show here with the top flap down. In the background is the same card design, but in a different colour.

Just a few more invitation ideas to consider when planning a wedding.

Flutterby's

I found this lovely sheet of flutterby's and just love the colours - so bright and pretty!

Needed a quick card - as per usual - and this is what I made up. Not spectacular, but colourful.

I used a Hero Arts stamp and a Martha Stewart punch for the flutterby's - in fact, they were already punched out!

Have a great day and thanks for popping in!

White Congratulations Cards

I am always looking for simple and elegant cards to make for selling. Because of the conservative cash return you receive for your cards, it does not pay to spend too much time nor use expensive embellishment's on them.

I needed cards that would cover weddings and engagements mainly, but could be considered for other occasions and put these two together with the minimum of fuss and cost.
I had both sentiments already stamped and embossed in my stash, so I embossed the background card and got busy with my punches and scraps of paper.
These punches I bought from Joan at Country Crafts.
They are Nellie Snellen punches and come in pairs. One punches and the other, you place your punches leaf/flower into it, press together and it embosses the cut out.
As you can see, absolutely stunning!

Joan is getting new stock in all the time. She also sells Marianne, Joy Crafts, Nellie's Choice and X-Cut dies not to mention stamps etc. I also managed to buy some Memory/Poppystamp dies recently as well.
Well worth a visit!

I just love this white on white look and will be making more cards like this soon.
Thanks for the visit!

What a Hoot!!

Just a quickie!
I found this set of free digi's from Hero Arts, via Jennifer McGuire's blog. They are just too cute!
Quickly made them up for the shop and they disappeared in a 'hoot'.

Valentine'a Day 2012

Happy Valentine's day to your all!
Nothing like remembering and being remembered by your loved one's on Valentine's Day.

I thought I would get all the Valentine's goodies posted and out of the way.
Nothing worse than lingering posts, so here goes......

Firstly, I just had to do something small for my DH. We don't go overboard, but do little happy things for each other, that always puts a smile on our faces. I decided that he needs to start his day with a little sweetness, so I made him a heart with a chocolate to put on his breakfast placement. Then another small chocolate bar, all spruced up, into his lunch box, just to make the young guys at work a little envious of a sixty three year old!! That, I think probably tickled him more than the whole romance thing..... he-he-he!

Whilst I was on a roll yesterday, I decided to make a heart with a choc for my 'therapy' ladies I meet with every Tuesday morning. Well, one thing led to another and I ended up making tags that could be used as bookmarks and attached a chocolate to that. They were thrilled.
I also made one for my dear friend Sally and dropped it off on my way home at lunch time.
Well, that is my little lot of spoiling my favorite people for Valentine's day.

I did wake up to a lovely kiss and a cup of tea this morning and found roses on my dining room table. I felt truly blessed and loved!

Enjoy the rest of your day and take time to spoil someone as it always comes back to you.

Happy (Get Well) Stitches!

It has been a long while since I stitched on a card and the opportunity arose this week. A very dear blogging friend went into hospital for knee replacement surgery and I wanted a pretty, different card to send to her. I coloured this image with Distress Inks, then ran it through the Cuttlebug with a Happy Stitches die on top. I then pierced holes through the die template, removed it, and started stitching. There are several stitch patterns to use, but I chose the daisy one for it's simplicity and placed a tiny pearl in the center. I then cut it out and distressed the edges with Old Paper Distress ink and mounted it onto lovely dainty paper, also with scissor and DI distressing around the edges. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark Sepia ink onto a Spellbinders Tag and I used seam binding that had been coloured with the Old Paper Distress inks. The Happy Stitches die, dp and flat back pearls were all from Paola. She chooses the most amazing papers for me!

Below is a close up of the stitching.
I really love this card an I just know the recipient will as well.

In case you had viewed this post earlier and it looks different, well it is, as the strangest thing happened. I was using my iPad and viewed my blog and noticed I had not filled in a subject, so proceeded to edit from the iPad. Well, it inserted the subject, no problem, but deleted my whole post! It is the second time it has happened. The first time I thought I had just done something weird, but now I know better. Will have to investigate this strange happening. Anyone have and ideas/solutions?

Number Four!

One of my "therapy" ladies asked me to do the first page in an album that she was giving to her grand daughter as she started senior school this year. The only brief she gave me was to use the colours of her new uniform.
I dusted off my Slice machine and cut the words out and used my nesties to cut the rest out, including the bunting.
I found a very appropriate stamp in my stash and used stickers for the bunting. I was more than chuffed with the finished product, considering it was only my 4th layout I have ever done, and so was Pat, the Grandma. Hopefully the recipient was too!
